Mamas Healing Tea Recipe

Great to have all through mamas postpartum well beyond the first 40 days, but especially healing in the first 10 days. I make this anytime I’m feeling I need some extra nurturing, am run down or just because I feel like it – so yummy! And every brew is a little different ✨

INGREDIENTS

2 TBSP turmeric root, grated

2 TBSP ginger root, grated

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp whole cloves

1 tsp vanilla essence or a few pods

1⁄2 tsp black peppercorns (or several grindsground pepper)

Several cardamom pods

Optional

Fresh rosemary or thyme (supports healthy detoxification)

1 tsp fennel seeds (supports quality breastmilk)

Chamomile and/or Lavendar and/or Rose (for calming qualities)

Ashwagandha Root (supports stress and mood)

HOW TO

Put all ingredients into a big pot and fill with water, a couple of litres. (Don’t worry too much about the quantities and being exact with ingredients, just throw in the amounts you feel, it always turns out just right!)

Don’t forget to pour in some love!

Bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 20 minutes (or more).

Strain into mugs. Add plenty of local honey and milk of choice to serve.

The rest of the pot can be kept simmering on the stove for the day, or strained and kept in the fridge to reheat later :)
