A Mother Blessing could look like: • Creating an alter and inviting your wahine to bring a wee token for you. • Sitting in circle and asking your wahine to give a blessing to you (could be a poem, a letter, a story) and connect your wrists with thread that will stay on until your pēpi is born. • Meditation to connect with our wombs, lineage of ancestors, the matriarchal line, recognising the inner and outer strengths engendered by our foremothers in pregnancy, birth and in daily life. • Gentle positive birth storytelling to inspire and help you feel ready for your rite of passage. • Belly art, painting a mandala on your tum, massage, sacred touch. I offer yoga (somatic yin or flow), sound journeys and/or cacao ceremony as additions to this special mother blessing if desired. I also encourage mamas-to-be to accept support for postpartum food as part of the ceremony.
